Choose the type of seat before planning the holes.
A freestanding shower chair, a tub transfer bench and a folding wall-mounted seat do different jobs. A chair inside the shower does not remove the need to get across its entrance. If transfers or balance are the concern, an occupational therapist can help choose equipment and a usable position. We handle the agreed fitting work.
Check what is behind the shower wall.
A finished tile wall can hide suitable backing, an empty cavity or old damage. We need to establish what supports the seat and follow its installation requirements. A fixed seat may involve more preparation than a grab bar. Opening a wall, adding backing and restoring the wet-area finish must be included in the scope when needed.

Can a folding shower seat go on any tiled wall?
No. Tile alone does not provide the required support. The seat and its specified mounting method must suit the structure behind the finish.

Can you choose the safest seat for my parent?
We can discuss fitting requirements. A clinician should assess personal support and transfer needs when choosing equipment is uncertain.
