The work may be a compatible shower-head and hose replacement or a holder fitted at an agreed position. Changes to concealed plumbing, valves or damaged connections are a different scope. Send photos of the existing fitting before purchasing parts.
Start with the connection you already have.
A product photo does not show whether the existing shower connection is sound or compatible. Send a close view of the shower arm, head and any slide rail, plus a wide view of the enclosure. Let us know about leaks, a loose fitting or previous repairs. Those conditions can change a small fitting job.
Plan the holder around the user.
The person needs to reach the head, holder and controls from the position they actually use. A long hose alone may not solve that. If a seat is involved, share its proposed position and any clinician's recommendations. A shower slide rail should only be used for support if that specific product is designed and installed for that purpose.

Separate the fitting from plumbing changes.
A compatible replacement at an existing connection is different from moving controls or changing an in-wall valve. Plumbing alterations need a separate quote and the appropriate trade. We explain the difference before arranging work, including whether wall opening or finish repairs are involved.
Get the work quoted together.
If you are also considering a seat or grab bar, mention them in the first text. Looking at the layout together helps avoid placing one fitting in the way of another. The quote should list the products, mounting, connection work and any additional preparation.

Is the handheld shower supplied?
Ask for supply to be included if you want it. Equipment and installation are separate unless the written quote says otherwise.
Can the shower rail double as a grab bar?
Only a product explicitly designed for that support function, installed to its requirements, should be considered for it. An ordinary shower-head rail is not a substitute.
Do I need a bathroom renovation?
A compatible fitting change may be possible without one. The connection, wall condition and intended use determine the work.
