Describe what moves.
Tell us whether the whole rail shifts, one bracket moves or a fixing has pulled away from the wall. A wide view and a close photo are useful. Do not pull hard on a questionable rail to demonstrate the problem. If the route cannot be used safely, arrange appropriate help while the work is assessed.
Find the cause before covering the damage.
A new screw in the same damaged hole may not restore the required support. The fixing needs a suitable structure and an appropriate bracket or rail connection. We explain whether a local repair is possible, whether the mounting needs to move, or whether part of the rail should be replaced.
Repair and replacement should be priced separately.
Keeping the existing rail may be possible if it remains suitable and sound. Replacement can be the better scope if the rail itself is damaged or the layout does not work. We do not promise a repair price until the conditions are understood.

Can you tighten a loose bracket?
Sometimes, but first the rail, fixing and supporting structure need checking. Tightening alone is not suitable for every failure.
Do you repair exterior rails too?
Send photos and the location. Exterior corrosion, damaged posts or deteriorated concrete may require a different repair or replacement scope.
Is this included in the $249 new-handrail starting price?
No. That price describes a new straight wall-mounted installation on suitable backing. Existing damage is quoted for the repair required.
